I want to study a language for my international business degree and can’t decide. I know many US companies deal with china as well as japan, so which would be in higher demand?
I'd actually love to study Italian, but thought that wouldn't get me very far in international business. I figured that could be something I learn for fun.
This is a decision you have to make. Don’t learn a language because you think it will get you more money or a better job, learn a language because you actually want to learn that language. If you have no love for the language you’re learning you’re not going to put forth as much effort and you won’t be nearly as good.
Jiro lives in Japan, but he works for an American company. He learned that in order to compete at a high business level, he would need to earn an international management degree. Jiro noticed that a master of management degree has become more common in international business. Jiro felt that a degree in international management would help him to be more competitive. I've got a couple years until I graduate, but I know I'd really like to live and work overseas. What kind of jobs are available?
I won't graduate for another couple of years, but I'm curious as to what types of overseas jobs are out there. As for any other languages, I hope to be fluent in Spanish by the time I graduate.
My degree is in Internatinal Finance and Economics, so I understand what you're looking for. The first question; do you speak any foreign languages? Do you know where you would like to live? As a US citizen you need to have special skills to obtain jobs overseas, as they will give the jobs to their own. As far as jobs, it could be anywhere from a bond trader on the london exchange to a marketing rep for a International Company like CCS who have offices all over the world. You could also consider sports managment like MMG in FL. Good luck and plan now.
